Exhibition opening on Thursday 13th July, 6.30pm – curated by Jo Walton, York Artist

Our summer exhibition opens on Thursday 13th July at 6.30pm. Please join us & some of the artists to celebrate this fantastic new exhibition.

We have invited York artist Jo Walton to curate this exhibition featuring her upholstery, fabrics & paintings as well as work she has chosen from the gallery.

Jo Walton is an artist and upholsterer based at her studios – Rogues Atelier, York. She works with rusty metal objects, creating prints on silk, linen and paper. She has designed her own fabrics from her rust prints via digital printing for upholstery and scarves.

Her seascape paintings are an attempt to capture memories, an intrinsic feeling, a distant dream. Jo works on gold or silver metal leaf to illustrate the ever present light when on the sea.

Her work has been in York Open studios for 3 consecutive years. Her art graces the walls of 3 York Lord Mayors.
