Antarctic Confluence III by Cathryn Shilling
Antarctic Confluence III forms part of Cathryn’s larger body of work interpreting her encounters with this remote and primordial environment. She focuses upon scale and the boundaries where sky, sea, land and ice meet with the objective of describing the experience and intensity of the colour of this exquisite place.
Her free standing curved panels are formed by fusing coloured and clear glass rods in a kiln. They are shown here mounted on an ash base. The panels capture light from any source but look especially beautiful if positioned in front of a window or with a brightly lit wall behind.
Excluding ash wood base, approximate height 44cm / width 41cm / depth 9cm
