Award winning glass artist Catriona Mackenzie creates bold, joyful and seductive pieces of art.
Here at Pyramid Gallery we are exhibiting some of her Lamella vessels which are inspired by the gills of mushrooms and walks in the woods. Each piece is made by manipulating hot layers of coloured glass. Once molten, clear glass is gathered on top of opaque, and centrifugal force is used to spin the glass into the vessel shape. The resulting pieces are therefore all unique, both in colour and form.
