David conceived the theme of Dignity during a residency at the South Australian School of Art in Adelaide. He says, that ‘As a society we are often pushed and pull and battered by each other and demoralized by the world around us. We can use dignity to keep a form of sanity in our lives but sometimes we forget to do this, to quote Bob Dylan “someone was murdered on New Years Eve and Dignity was the first to leave”.’
