Hope in Hell by Dan Baldwin

Hope in Hell conveys veiled references to the conflict in Iraq and could easily have crossed the line into outright negativity. However Baldwin makes figures of children central to the composition, obliging the viewer to consider the effects of war on those who are powerless, whilst at the same time offer a message of redemption and hope for the future.

Hope in Hell (2011), silkscreen print on paper with glazes.
