James Devereux – Kopis Pair, hot worked glass

Kopis is a pair of glass sculptures, hot worked by James Devereux, and while still hot, worked on one edge, like a flint arrowhead using a metal hammer. This process must be done as the glass is cooling, to achieve a knapped edge that visually looks like a flint edge but is soft to the touch of the hand.

The forms are balanced in a heavy metal base that are specially made to hold the pieces firmly
