I wanted to put this man – a man familiar with comfort and security – somewhere which to him will feel dark and alien, a reflection perhaps of his own un-conscious anxiety. He might feel he has enough, but his obsession with personal plenty will always make him the target for others with less. He fears – in fact he knows – that despite all his best efforts at keeping the wild world out, he will never be safe. Clare Taylor , York, oct 2018
