Not only is Kate affected through the cancellation of Open Studios, but she is also our latest artist to exhibit her work at the Hotel Marriott, Tadcaster Road, York. Prior to the national lockdown, members of the public were able to go there and view her pictures hung within the reception area. Using porcelain ceramic, Kate creates 3 dimensional ceramic pictures from origami folded surfaces
Originally from North Wales, I have lived in York for two decades as a partner, mother, teacher and artist.
Having taught for over 20 years, I have just graduated with aย ย first-class Contemporary Craft Degree from York College and am a UK Prize Winner in the Eleanor Worthington International Art Prize in Tertiary Education, Italy and the UK.
โSince 2017 myย work has been exhibited in Thirsk (Rural Arts), York (According to McGee, the Norman Rea Gallery, York St.John University, Merchant Taylor’s Hall, York Open Studios 2019), Scunthorpe (20-21 Visual Arts Centre), Harrogate (Alzheimer’s Research UK National Research Conference), Newcastle (the Holy Biscuit), London (Art.Number 23) and Urbino, Italy.

I am a member of the British Origami Society andย currently Artist in Residence at York College. 2020 will be my second year of showing at York Open Studios
