Anna Noel ceramics

Anna Noel graduated with a first class Honours Degree in Ceramics at Bath Academy of Art in 1982. In 1984 Anna set up a ceramics studio in Wales with her sister, Sarah Noel

Anna’s work is inspired by the mysterious and dream-like quality of myths and legends and the role animals play in them. She is particularly interested in the way animals are used to symbolise human qualities and emotions. She is also influenced by early Tang sculptures and tomb figures from China and much of pre-Colombian art. Anna is intrigued by the moment of contact with a creature, the point of interaction when the animal looks you in the eye, and endeavours to capture this moment in her work.

Her work is held in several public and private collections which include those of Sir Roy Strong, The Marquis of Bath and Prince Ranier of Monaco.
